Studying Abroad in English [English ver.]

Hello.
I’m Natsu, the writer of this blog. I’m a 20-year-old university student, and I’m a sophomore. The reason why I decided to study abroad in Sebu, Philippine is that I love to speak in English and luckily there is long spring vacation. In addition to this reason, the cost is also much cheaper than studying abroad in any other western countries.
Except this trip, I’ve stayed in Canada for a week and also Canada and America for a month. First one was at the age of fifteen, and another was at the age of seventeen.
That’s all for my introduction, let me move on to my diary.
But anyway it’s already past 1 week from I arrived at Sebu. In initial week, I didn’t have energy to write articles anymore… And now, I have some surplus energy, so I’d like to tell what I see and what I feel and so on!

Facing the situation that only 3 weeks of my staying are left, I strongly believe that ‘A picture is worth a thousand words.’
Usually we think we know the reality of the life of people who are much poorer than us (living in ‘developed’ countries). And we always talk over matters about them. We don’t care much about their actual feeling. Actually, I was not interested in such a problem so far. When I heard that kind of discussion, I always took it as hypocrisy. However, when I arrived at Philippine, I faced realities. I’m staying at Sebu, and here is of course a resort, but also developing town. But I never recognize such a situation as a pitiful fact. It is their usual life. I think we don’t have any right to express it as poor or miserable. And now I am interested in ‘developing countries’ rather than before. How do people in such countries make a living? What are the definitions of ‘happiness’ of them or what are the measures of some values? Are they same as ours? I have plenty of quite simple questions and curiosities about them and their life.

This is my first trip around Asia. In addition to this, I’ve also never experienced studying English in academy. Therefore, I think now I am really sensitive about anything that happens around me. I would like to write something about such things. It’s my precious if you could read my articles.
