CHEATED! / CHEATED?
Hi! This is Natsu.
Last weekend, I went to Kawasan falls, the fantastic and beautiful falls in Cebu. I was really satisfied with that experience, but…”that” happened after I came back to my dormitory. After I got to the dormitory, I met a friend of mine. He went to Kawasan before and he told me lots of information about there before I went to there. So I told him,
”Thank you for your information. Thanks for you, finally I had an awesome trip!”
Then, he said,
“You’re welcome. How much did you pay?”
I answered,
“200 pesos per person!”
Actually, we went to there with 10 people including me, and I thought it was much cheaper to see and enjoy around there, I thought. But…
“It’s too expensive! You must have been cheated!”
My friend said!
Next Monday I also asked my teacher, yet she told me same thing as my friend said…
Through this experience, I have an opinion. Yes, it is exactly fact that I was cheated, but the fee was still really cheap. I know I have to admit my fault or mistake. However, in some aspect, I think it was good for me to be cheated. Why? Because I am rich. Actually I don’t have lots of money, but I’m obviously richer than people working in there. Maybe they don’t cheat local people, they may select the people whom they cheat. Of course it is a guilt that people trick on somebody, but I think it is also true that rich people should provide their money to poor people. Therefore, I don’t regret what I did.
…No, to tell the truth, I really regret. But there’s no use crying over spilt milk. So, I’d like to give a meaning to this accident. And…please be careful!!!

I’m curious how creative writing instructors at colleges and universities handle students who write about really disturbing things and who seem potentially dangerous to themselves and others? Are instructors privy to students’ mental health records? Do they let such students get away with violent or disturbing writing in an effort NOT to stir too much trouble? Do you become proactive in trying to help these students? Do you undergo training to deal with problem students? As a creative writing student at a university, I often see disturbing stuff brought into workshops. I’m wondering what the profs think of all this. Thanks to any answers!.
